Evaluasi Rasionalitas Penggunaan Obat Asma Pada Pasien Pediatri Rawat Jalan di Rumah Sakit X Bandar Lampung Tahun 2025


Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways that remains a health problem in pediatrics. Rational use of medication is an important aspect in asthma management because it influences the success of therapy and disease control. This study aims to evaluate the rationality of asthma medication use in pediatric outpatients at X Hospital, Bandar Lampung in 2025. This study is a descriptive observational study with a retrospective approach using medical record data. The study sample consisted of 56 patients who met the inclusion criteria. Rationality evaluation was carried out based on the parameters of appropriate indication, appropriate patient, appropriate drug, and appropriate dosage regimen. The results showed that the majority of patients were aged 6–12 years (76.78%), were male (53.57%), had intermittent asthma severity (62.50%), and had no family history of asthma (71.43%). The most commonly used drug class was short-acting β2-agonist (SABA) (25,13%) with salbutamol as the most frequently prescribed drug (24,60%). Based on the evaluation of the "4T" parameters, the rates of appropriateness were 100% for indication, 92.86% for patient, 91.07% for drug, and 75.00% for dosage regimen, with 40 patients (71.43%) meeting all the evaluated parameters.
