RANCANG BANGUN E-COLLAR SEBAGAI SISTEM GEOLOKASI DAN PERINGATAN PADA ALAT VIRTUAL CATTLE FENCE
Grazing of livestock is not always supervised, with farmers generally grazing their
livestock wildly, resulting in livestock often leaving the area and damaging people's
crops or plantations. So a guardrail or rope is needed to keep the livestock in the
designated area. On the other hand, the high cost of fencing materials and the use
of ropes pose a risk to livestock and farmers. The purpose of this research is to
create a virtual cattle fence (VIRCEN) product that has the function of monitoring
and preventing livestock from leaving a predetermined area. In this research, the
e-collar system uses the Ublox Neo 7M receiver module as a sensor that receives
data related to time, satellite position, and altitude which is processed into
coordinates of the cattle. From the test results, it is obtained that indoor location
acquisition with an average accuracy of 6.8 m and outdoor 2 m can show the latest
data to be achieved. In addition to the Ublox Neo 7M receiver module as the latest
location data, there is also a DFplayer mini module as an audio player on the alert
module, tested with two different audio variations. It was found that the audio type
with a frequency of 8KHZ was not able to affect the cattle, while in the second test
using the rattlesnake audio type, the cattle were affected based on different
reactions to the initial conditions.
