This is due to the availability of clean water such as lowering of ground water level and drought, it is necessary to conserve groundwater as a sustainable management of water resources and excessive use of ground water along with the increasing number of students each year. In this case, the rainwater catchment area under consideration is the roof. Utilization of rain water can be used for MCK and K3L purposes for building cleanliness so that exploitation of groundwater use can be reduced. From the calculation results, the average rainwater supply that can be harvested by the roof of F ITERA Building is 3303.927 m3 per year. The average water requirement of the academic community and K3L who are active in Building F of the Sumatra Institute of Technology is 9,329 m3 or 9,329,240 liters per day, and the amount of water to support activities in Building F ITERA in one year is 3,096,205 m3 or 3,096 .205,480 liters. Rainwater Harvesting System savings in meeting water needs in Building F ITERA is 55% for 2018, 56% for 2019 and 79% for 2020. The budget required to build rainwater harvesting Building F of the Sumatra Institute of Technology is Rp. 25,471,900 is counted as Twenty Five Million Four Hundred Seventy One Thousand Nine Hundred Rupiah.
